One of those 'moments' today - fired up the car, drove out the gate, knew it was slippy as hell out there so being overly gently - what with it having been raining and 'misting' for the past day or two.

.........and something had dripped oil right across the entry way, looked like a van or truck had parked up in front for a delivery for a bit.

Result, me driving at about 50 degrees straight down the road trying to avoid parking my car in one of the others....Never an entertaining situation!

One of those  moments for sure, quickrack help me keep it in the right direction though :D

Genuinely thought it was me being a bit too aggressive with only myself to blame but walked back over it and there was a nice haze of oil everywhere, with two tyre tracks leading out of it.

Ho hum!

Anyway........just keep an eye out peeps!

It's all well and good compensating for what you can see and judging the conditions as appropriate but it's worth a gentle reminder that sometimes you should leave a little more margin for error. That's my mental note for today.

Peace, out :p

bet it got the adrenaline rushing mate! Had a similar fishtale experience on a roundabout near me with the 320D, stopped up after it and there was a nice layer of **** all over the road. It was still partly my fault as i was taking it hard, but the roundabout is one i can drive 3-4 times a day and it's usually quite clean.

Well, they're fun when they're in a safe environment and intended. Not quite so when it comes out of the blue :D

Off topic but on the dual carrageway I saw a lovely yellow 1500HL, absolutely immaculate!

I thought it was you at first but the steel wheels and trim rings gave it away as it came down the on-ramp.

I drew level with it and gave the guy a hearty thumbs up, so he probably was a little scared and suprised at the same time :D

Haha he would have been! I have seen that one about a few times, seen it parked up at the Odeon. Yet to see it when driving the Dolly though.

I had an interesting moment yesterday on Burton road. I had stopped at the Tap House for apint, left the car park from the main entrance, put my foot down and fishtailed around a bit. Nothing serious, but it was slippery as hell.

Came past this morning on the way into Burton to find some chap had gone backwards through the hedge in about the same place.

At the time I just thougt it was me giving a touch too much beans, but maybe there was something on the road after all.... or he was also giving it too much beans :D
