Wolfenstein II: The New Colossus

Unfortunately I wasted about 14 enigma codes because I didn't have a clue how to use the machine at first. Now I need about 20 more enigma codes to unlock 4 final missions, but am nearing the end of the campaign.

You can farm engima codes by replaying the ubercommander missions so don't worry about running out although i also found the enigma machine tutorial was pretty terrible. i googled it and didn't waste a single code once i understood it.

Finished the game last night, expected a bit more from the lead up the final mission and was quite surprised it ended when it did. Story was a great ride though and the shooting was fun once you dial the difficulty down. Playing stealth felt quite hit and miss at times, i managed it much more in the first game but in this one I think I only took out the commanders a handful of times without being seen. The contraptions didn't really add much which was a bit of a wasted opportunity and a couple of new guns would have been nice.

Still I'd recommend it and looking forward to the next one.

The difficulty in parts of this game is off the scale; load, play for 10 secs, get killed, waiting another 30 secs for it to reload. Does not make it enjoyable.

I just put the difficulty down to the lowest and enjoyed blasting everyone. Still got 15-20 hours out of it, not sure I'd have stuck around until the end otherwise as some sections are very badly designed in terms of giving you a chance until you learn every spawn and hiding point.

Liked the previous ones, not this one.. Only 1 or 2 fun. Maps.. I don't think any map had more than 30 guards in.. I only played it on hard but there were almost no areas that you could not just storm in and shoot everyone in a few seconds.. Seemed almost no verity of guards (the heavy armour guards were too slow to be a threat) could have done with some bigger maps, more guards and different types (give some bullet proof shields) more grenades, less armour and health drops.. They must have spent 100s of k making the cut scenes and I skipped them all (suppose some people must like them)... I cannot image wanting to reply any of this game

Weird to suddenly see so much dislike aimed at this game. I really enjoyed it, felt very much like more of the same compared to the first one (and The Old Blood) but to me. I really enjoyed the storyline too, gave the game more depth than just being a simple run-and-gun shooter.

I'm playing through the first of the three DLC episodes at the moment. It's nothing special so far, could have used a bit more polish and variety. Enjoyable enough, but it's the same weapons, enemies and gameplay as the full game when it'd have been a good opportunity to try a few new things.

What a disappointment! Chopped it in as couldn’t be bothered to finish it. Just found myself getting bored: think I was quite near the end but just found it pretty dull. Cutscenes were the best bit. Lacked hdr which was a real shame too.

Is this game stable on X1X? I’ve been reading Steam reports of it crashing on PC a lot so it might be best to get it on console?

Yes it's stable, I didn't have any problems with it.

Any thoughts on the season pass from anyone in here? Worth a buy?

I'd say no, maybe when it's super cheap and you fancy revisiting the game for a bit. The DLC brings in nothing new, the environments mostly feel re-hashed from the full game, there are no new weapons, enemies, gameplay mechanics etc and the storylines for all three of them are rubbish. I made it through the first two but gave up entirely on the third one.

Fair enough thanks, i've read a couple of reviews since commenting and they echo your thoughts. I'll pick it up in a sale.
