Women at the checkout - That really grinds my gears!

I'm really sad when it comes to things like this, or maybe Its cos im a man, prime example, went into H&M the other day looking for 2 items, got off my bike, undone my leathers, was on my own so prepared.

... I got side tracked. 3 pairs of socks for £2! So, back tracked 2 steps, picked up 3 bundles, sorted....

Does not compute (yes I know they do (girly)boys clothes).:p

And the second line backs it up. Men don't get sidetrached...;):p

They were doing this real nice shirt I saw when trolling through with the misses the other day. Spent 3 days debating the purchase then went for it.

And aye, men do NOT gander about the shop looking, we notice something, spend no more than 3 seconds thinking about it, any longer, its not worth it, any shorted, its bagged.

Women don't really have any forward thinking ability, if I'm at the checkout, I will actually get my card out in advance, or get the right change ready for when they ask for it, not just stand there like a lemon until I'm asked for it.
Funny enough there are lots of us women who do exactly the same, you just remember the ones that are a little woolly-headed.

And because the majority of people doing the shopping in supermarkets tend to be female, the woolly-headed ones will be in the main, female too.

I've been stuck behind flappy and confused men in ******s before.

EDIT: Hah, that got starred! High-street electrical/electronics retailer, then.

You were allowed out to shop? :eek:Get back to your kitchen sink woman! ;):D

yeah but have you ever noticed just how sllloooooowwww blokes are when they work on checkouts.....

No?

Once in LIDL there was this superfast guy who I totally couldn't keep up with in my packing. "Whoah whoah slow down!" said I, and then he said he couldn't as the throughput was something they were getting measured on!

Rather impractical though when he fills up the packing area before I've had time to put it anywhere...

Nope?

Exactly the same tbh, only things that affect it are: experience, tiredness and of course how fast they want to go.

Some will deliberately stall so you're not being swamped at the bottom, others will just ram it through, flood the whole packing area and then sit and watch you flail around trying to get it packed.

IMO the only real difference is blokes operating the checkouts are less likely to be chatting while/instead of working.

Another one: people that stop and just stand there at the top of escalators. I'm on a moving staircase ffs - move out of the way or I'm going to bump into you.

What annoys me is people who are talking to eachother in the middle of the isle, you know they do have phones now, if you want to talk to your friend, call them or visit them at home...

Huh?!?! So we become a nation of hermits?... I'm ok with them chatting to each other as long as they move to one side so other people can pass by...

thats exactly what Tesco calls it.... Throughput. Slow down for a customer and get told off....

Customer service has gone out the window now we are penny pinching to try and still make record profits during this recession.

The general public walking about town annoy me. People slow you down and get in your way.

Maybe there is something weird with me, I go focused knowing where Im going and what i'm buying...

Most people just float about it seems clueless.

Women with pushchairs... argh!!

People that are walking about at 2pm on a weekday?! Get a job.. do something with your life!

This to be honest. Although, I don't really mind the women with pushchairs or old people as much. I'm sure they do the best they can.
Luckily I live this weird nocturnal life where I sleep most of the day, and work at night. I don't have to go out and suffer idiots often. My shopping is done around 4am after I get back from work so you'd be hard pressed to find 3 people in my Tesco at that time. I do know what the OP means though. Just last week I was standing behind an old gal in a checkout at my local Budgens who sort off phased in and out of this world. She seemed quite well to do, but clearly there was a few lights off somewhere up there.

One more thing that gets my blood pressure up is screaming snot nose kids and their numpty parents just ignoring. I'm not saying smother the hapless little tikes with a pillow, but at least make an effort shutting it up so others don't have to suffer their wailings.
