Women's football and the legacy of victory

I coach my daughters u12 football team. The number of girls taking up football before the euros was significant because of the awareness around it. Parents are slowly learning that it’s not just a lads games.

In our club we have an u7 girls team and each age after, it’s really good to see.

I'm glad it's changing for the better.

When I was a kid my mates older sister was phenomenal but that was before girls were 'allowed' to play and she was flatly refused when she wanted to play in the local side.

Even back then I thought is was crazy, she would have won them every match.
