Some friends and I got onto the topic of dreams a couple of weeks ago, and one of my friends described to me the single best dream I have ever heard of.

Her brother had a dream where he was running from something, and his legs were like they were stuck in treacle and he couldn't get away, which is pretty standard.

He was running away from a t-rex with a beard (awesome) and when the dinosaur caught him he begged him to shave his beard off because his tiny t-rex arms couldn't reach.

I thought this was amazing and a sure sign that her brother is of at least genius intelligence.

What's the most bizarre or surreal dream you've ever had or heard of?

All mine were rubbish compared to this one, apart from the one proper lucid dream I've ever had, during which I got in fight at work, then lost the plot and had a motorbike chase with Charlie Sheen (as Topper Harley) which ended with the world going really small, us flying out into orbit, then landing in a big plastecine graveyard where Charlie was eaten by huge plastecine chickens (I don't think it was really lucid by that point because I really didn't dream that bit on purpose).

Don't seem to remember my dreams much these days although I remember when I was younger I had a dream where I was eaten alive by a massive iced ring donut! I ate my way out of him and in the morning I was craving donuts!

Also had a weird nightmare when I was a kid, remember the kids shows in the 90s where there was lots of 'gunge', well I imagined I was in some sort of sealed shower cubicle and the gunge started to come out of a shower head and fill up, the weirder thing was on the walls was the aquafresh logo and the gunge that came through was red then white then blue :(. I don't like aquafresh anymore! haha!

I had a really nice dream where I got my dream car but my best dream was when I was a wee lad, I dreamt that I was part of the Power Rangers. That, I shall never forget.

My personal favourite happened a few years ago now. I still remember it because it was my first lucid dream.

I was walking out of an unfamiliar house, when I pulled out one of my earphones that was playing some nondescript music. Something clicked; the music was still playing in both my ears, despite me having just taken one out (I had my iPod on when I went to sleep which must have caused this affect). Anyway this was enough to trigger me to realise in my dream that I was in fact dreaming and I became lucid. I decided to start running and it became an alleyway that I've walked down many a time in my waking life. I was running at Usain Bolt speeds it was amazing, but then I decided to stop and try to something else.

I jumped up and I was hovering about 2 meters off the ground. I then propelled myself forward at supersonic speeds (yes, I travelled faster than the speed of sound before Felix) over the sea. The sea was by some stroke of luck the other-side of a hedge; it seems I wasn't in control of my surroundings, just my actions. I was flying low and fast, every so often rolling like an aeroplane and dipping the tips of my finger in the water. I then saw something amazing, something so beautiful it would end my lucid dream.

A blue lagoon, as beautiful as you could imagine and of course had the 20m waterfall at the far side. It was however the most beautiful woman I've ever laid eyes on swimming in the lagoon that ended my dream. I decided I wanted her. I dived in from the ledge and swam towards her, as I got faster and faster the lagoon got larger and larger. I reached out my arm and it grew to length of a bus, as I caressed her cheek with my hand she vanished in a puff of smoke along with the surroundings and myself.

I awoke from the dream in awe at the power of the mind in its dream state. I've not had a lucid dream since.

Can't remember any particularly good dreams lately. I think most of the good ones are ancient. Had a few where I could float which were the most relaxed feelings I've had.

Had a dream years ago where I had Force-like powers to bring objects to my hand, I remember wondering if I was just dreaming and trying so hard to recognize if it was a dream, after a while I was convinced it was reality, nothing was off in the dream, environments were accurate, I was sure that I had taught myself how to accomplish this feat. Was completely gutted when I woke up.

The dream that ****** me off the most was with a lucid dream I was having, not long after become aware of the dream and begging to influence it I woke up, didn't think any more of it until I woke up and realized I had only dreamt that I had woken previously but had in fact still been in the same dream. Felt utterly cheated out of having been in a vivid lucid dream state, really felt like I'd been conned by my subconscious.

I always have really vivid dreams.

I tend to forget them after a couple of hours but last nights, what I can remember, me and my family were all hiding out in some castle for some reason. My dad being a **** said that I was fat and lazy for hiding, so I went out hunting dragons. For some reason I was hunting them through a maze (the big hedge ones) I caught it, killed it with a punch, then came back to the castle... To sleep with Kelly Brook :p

I can vaguely remember hunting more things apart from the dragon and the dream going on for ages, and talking to my uncle about ghosts but that parts a bit blurry after 2 hours awake.

I rather enjoy my random dreams every night, wish I could record them and rewatch :D

Dreaming I a tree was growing through my window and trying to strangle me with vines
That I sat up in bed, looked out the window and everything around my house was on fire / rubble like a nuke had gone off. I then woke up out my dream and I was sat up in bed looking out the window
Watching cartoons playing on my wardrobe when my eyes were still open, then closing them and getting instant nightmares to having to open them
Sleep paralysis is horrible

I have crazy dreams almost every night. I suffer from a lot of sleeping conditions (Sleep Paralysis, Lucid Dreaming, night terrors) so have pretty interesting and very real dreams most nights.

Just the other night I had a dream I was fighting aliens alongside the Incredible Hulk but the aliens had been attacking my childhood home.

I can also wake myself up while dreaming by kicking myself out it then going to the toilet and going right back in to the same dream.

I was assisting the filming of a Top Gear car review with Jeremy doing the review, it was for a fast car.

Jeremy left the review car unattended so I decided I would go for a joyride in it.

Jeremy then chased me in another fast car armed with a pistol, he eventually caught up with me.

Then I woke up.

I've had dreams with clarkson and hammond in them, but never james may for some reason.

I never have any of these crazy dreams. Mine always consist of everything I want to happen in the future, like where I want to end up living, the sort of job I want, etc. Every single night.

I always forget my dreams, and I know I have had some awesome ones! Although, yours all sound amazing, mine are mainly just filth haha.

I had raunchy sex with Amy Pond from Doctor Who. We were actually in some sort of episode when it happened, we were running away from something. When Amy ran into a room and I followed I shut the door behind. The Doctor was banging on the door to be let in, I stood there and spoke some nonsense about there being no time (in that melodramatic way often captured on film). Then with Amy in her vulnerable state after seeing the Doctor mauled to pieces by some sort of a hippo I cupped her cheek in my palm and planted a passionate kiss onto her lips. I then lifted her up onto a table and we proceeded in a rather intimate fashion (it was epically graphic :D).

That was a wonderful dream :p

I have dreams where I create the day again but I am floating above everything so I can see myself going about my normal day, really strange and freaks me out a little bit.

I've also had some pretty amazing dreams where I am in a zombie apocalypse but its in my local surroundings.

But normally I don't remember my dreams!

Awesome. My only lucid dream went a bit crazy too but you can see from the OP the direction it went. It was pretty rad still.

I've only ever had two lucid dreams, and both times I was so excited about finding myself in control I ended up accidentally waking myself, so a total awesome dream time of about 1min :(

What I can do however, just before i fall asleep I can sometimes see a hyper detailed imagine. I'm never in control of what it is, it never seems to be in colour and only a tiny part of it is in focus and i can only see it for a couple seconds at a time.
The detail is astounding though, far far higher detail than real life somehow. Like seeing you pamaramic photo yet observing the whole thing at millimeter detail all at the same time. The brain truly is amazing.
