DDR2 sticks have a bandwidth of up to at least 8GB/s, I wouldnt expect amd to be releasing a new socket this year, I think if they did that people would stop buying amd altogether.

Mind you, although Intel has stuck with the same socket for a while now they're onto at least the 3rd version of it: Original: Dual core: Core Duo. So that was probably more than 1 a year
