Oky guys here are my specs,

Abit IP35
E2180
GeIL 2GB (2x1GB) PC2-6400C4 800MHz DDR2 Dual Channel Kit ( 2 sets for 4gb of memory).
HD 3870
corsair 520w psu
freezer 7 pro

I have C1E disabled and speedstep.

I set ram timings to 18-5-5-5 for the start to see how far the cpu will go. The ram was set to 1.8v but i changed it too 2.1v. When cranking the FSB from 200 to 250 and using the divider to keep the memory at or below 800 mhz there are no problems. The multi has been kept at 10x.

As soon as i go to 260 the system won't boot. The fans spin and the hdd makes a quick noise but nothing shows up on the monitor. I tried increasing the cpu voltage from 1.3125 to 1.3325, but it still didn't boot. Then i tried 1.4** volts and it still won't boot.

After searching this forum i found that i should only use 2 sticks of ram instead of the 4 for overclocking. So i took 2 ram sticks out and left 2 inside in the dual channel configuration. But alas still no joy.

I then tried flashing the bios to 14 and still it did not work.

Anyone got any ideas?

I did try it with only 2 sticks in dual channel mode, but same thing happens. But i have heard people easily getting 3ghz without upping the vcore. But i did up the vcore to something around 1.4v but it still wouldn't boot.

I managed to solve the problem. I thought about maybe taking the 2 sticks of geils out and putting the other 2 sticks of geil in that i had taken out before. Now i have got the FSB to 300mhz. I am not sure what was wrong with the other paie of geil's. Once i finish with this overclock i will add the other 2 sticks in and see what happens.

Make sure you have the volts set correctly for the geil ram it takes more than standard, secondly if its the Ultra Low Latency stuff from OCUK then from experience can reach 1000mhz on 5-5-5-23 timmings @ 2T command rate... Not sure about the Abit board never used a P35 Abit but sometimes you can get FSB holes

Yep the ram is the ultra low latency stuff. I got it set at 2.1v. Still overclocking however, i'm at 3.2 ghz so far gonna run orthos. When i start making changed to the ram timings and the fsb i will try increasing the voltage.
