won't format

I am trying to put an old 10Gb HDD in but it wont format. Gets all the way to 100% and then says incomplete and no file structure is shown.

Last time I used it I put XP on and it worked fine. Have now cleaned it and tried to format in XP and from boot but the same problem.

Is it going in the bin? I seem to be getting good at killing these!

Tried doing a CHKDSK or Scan Disk on it?

Comes back RAW. Wont do it.

Have you tried getting a boot disk (win98)from www.bootdisk.com and then using FDISK. ?

Ok. works fine on an old motherboard. I am guessing compatability issues. ata100/133 or something with the southbridge.

Never mind!!
