Anyone had bad experiences with ebay? I'll never use ebay again. And I've only used it twice.

My buyer complained my item was faulty (which it isn't).

The buyer is demanding a refund and will be round to collect in cash, same as the way he paid originally. Looking at his previous transactions he's some dodgy dealer involved in what looks like stolen car parts. I doubt I'd sell to people like this at a car boot sale, let alone actually let them into my house to buy stuff from me.

After this I just don't trust people, so that's it - never again.

I'm not a big fan of buying or selling electronic goods on ebay, personally. I always tread very carefully. :/

what do you mean will be round to collect a refund, you don't have to give him a refund... just tell him where to go or call the police.

Ive never had a problem buying stuff from ebay as i allways stick to the good advice i was given "if it looks too good to be true it probably is". ive bought loads of stuff from ebay even from hongkong and USA as well and never had any trouble, a lot cheaper than i could find in the uk. Ive had 1 problem selling where a scamer bought my item, i complained about him to ebay after some advice from this forum and 3 days later the buyer was "no longer a registered user" and i got my final value fee refunded :) , not bad really.

Never had any problems really, bought stuff from many countries with no problems. I only sell stuff to the UK though, I can't be bothered with the problems of bidders from other countries and overseas shipping rates etc. Only problems I had recently was where I had an old engine for sale on there and some guy bid and won it (it was only 15 quid!) but never picked it up. After umpteen phone calls and only reaching him once (at which point he agreed a time to pick it up), I gave him two months and nothing happened so in the end i've just scrapped the engine anyway. So it hasn't really cost me anything.

Never had a problem buying on the bay... Spent probably about 3k in total. Only time something went wrong was when a seller sent me someone elses stuff and someone else got mine. I told him, sent it back then 5 days or so later I got the correct package and he paypal'd me the shipping cost back.

I spend a while checking the feedback out and what they have been selling. For example I probably wouldn't buy a £800 camera lens off someone who has only been selling pay-as-u-go sim cards.

Never had any major problems, had a couple of people try and scam me by not sending me stuff etc, but I always pay with paypal so no problem there :)

As for selling I only sell low value items, so the occasial retard that I get doesn't matter

I've not bought or sold anything on Ebay for at least 18 months, the last 5 or so transactions I've had the items have either turned up broken with the seller insisting I'd broken them (because like every other normal person, I'm in the habit of breaking stuff I pay for) or not turned up at all, or I end up with some nigerian/sri lankan/russian insisting on paying me through western union.

I used to love Ebay, every time I wanted to upgrade my PC I'd sell the old part on and make at least 50% of the retail cost of the new item but it's just not worth the grief nowadays :(

I've done a little bit of buying and selling on EBay - latest was off-loading my 9800Pro and picking up a Bluetooth headset for my mobile.
As with 99% of my transactions so far both of these went smoothly - I paid for the headset almost as soon as I'd won the auction and I had it within three days.
The buyer of my 9800Pro contacted me within five minutes of winning the auction asking if he was to pay the higher level of postage would I send it out "Special Delivery" that afternoon so he would have it for the weekend.
I was happy to say yes, he paid a little more and low & behold he had the card on the Friday morning.

If it looks too good to be true on EBay as with most things it probably is.
I've only ever once done a "Buyer Collects" as I was selling a 6ft roof mounted antenna (for long distance wireless) which would have been awkward to send - other than that I won't give people the opportunity to come and collect.

Only one item I purchased (was a signed photograph) that I've had an issue with.
I've bought a few autographed (not reproduced or printed - only interested in actually signed items) items and already owned a couple of this person.
Although it was a written and not printed autograph I wasn't happy it was legitimate as it was slightly different to other autographs from the same person.
Seller was happy to refund me the whole amount.

I'd say you have just been unlucky.

I sell quite a lot of stuff on ebay, and so far (touch wood) all has gone well, no grumbles from anyone.

The few items I have bought have also been fine, worked and the transaction went perfectly.
