Same here. I can't see mine costing me £2000. It's only a load of reclaimed bricks and sand and cement at the end of the dayIf I ever get my own house , then I will be building one. Loads of plans on the net on how to build them, so you dont need expensive kits. Just some fireproof stones and clay.

Doesn't it all need to be special fireproof material though?
Heatproof bricks to spread the heat around apparently.
Looking around on the web 2-3K is a good benchmark mark figure![]()
Went to a BBQ over the weekend and some had one of these things made by himself
Just like the ones you see in greece/Asia etc etc. Truly awesome pizza's cooked in 45 seconds and tasted about 10X's better then Dom's or pizza hut.
Any fellow OCUK have one of these or thought about building one? This one cost the hose circa £2000
Good fun cooking on it though
EDIt pics for you

why the jacket? It looks warm.
They didn't have special fireproof material years ago. They just used to pack sand and clay around it. That's the way I'm going to do mine. If it breaks - fix itDoesn't it all need to be special fireproof material though?
I built one, cost me about £200 in materials and it's lasted 2 years. Absolutely great pizza/ naan bread/ roti on it.
Before than I used a pizza stone.
£2000 seems insane! How the hell did those ovens cost that much, if I saw them I'd be like "Probably cost about £400-500 inc labour"
