Are you using wordpress.com or the downloaded from .org?
I'm not sure about the .com version, but if you installed it yourself something like http://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/single_post_title is in there somewhere, and it's wrapped in a H2 tag. All you need to do is swap it to H1 and your done.
I do use all-in-one seo. Seems ok, but rewrites a lot of things. Had an issue with TwentyTen to start off, but that's been fixed. Seems to slow down sites a tad, but I use w3 Total Cache aswell so altogether it seems ok.
All in One SEO is good if you wan't an out of box solution. However I prefer Greg's High Performance Plugin as it offers a huge amount of customisations.
Agree with the SEO friendly images and xml sitemap plugins though.
w3 total cache was updated today, seems to make a big difference. Now has CloudFlare support and Google Pagespeed API support. I'm currently looking at it on a few sites of mine...
