wordpress help

Hi all,

I am currently running a wordpress site for our team and the management was so impressed they wanted me to set one up for another team which I have done.

However they are wanting to put docs on the webserver and link to them.

Now, I've been uploading the docs with filezilla to a docs folder and then linking to it with

<a href="server address/doc name">Timesheet</a>

This is too complicated for them, is there a plugin or something that allows them to do this?

while I am asking, what does the upload/insert media button do? is this for docs/spreadsheets etc? Only ever used for the images one!
 
No offence but if you had just followed through on your last statement you would have realised that...

Yes, pressing the upload/insert media button will allow you to attach files via wordpress.
 
none taken, i did try it after I posted but what happens is that it doesn't link directly to the file, instead it seems to link to another page and then to the file.

I am going to have a play and see if I can make it link directly to it :D
