Wordpress/phpbb2 bridge

Hi,

How hard would it be to create one of these? I've had a quick Google around and could only find one for vBulletin or SMF.

What'd I'd like to be able to do is;

Mirror posts to a forum of choice and create a new topic for each new blog post
Use phpbb for comments
Show the phpbb comments like the normal wordpress ones, but not actually on wordpress
Only require users to sign up on one for both.
Keep the user logged in when switching between wordpress and phpbb

I've been poking around at SMF for about 5 hours, and it just doesn't seem right for me, that and I can't find any themes I actually like, and I'm not paying £91 for vBulletin.

Use bbPress. Made by the WordPress devs and has WP integration out of the box.

Whilst I'm here, whats a quicker way to backup my files from shared hosting than the slowness that is ftp?

Takes hours when it should take 10 mins.

try SFTP in case your ISP is throttling you fsr

Host doesn't appear to support it.

Its not slow all the time, if you know what I mean, if I download a large file speeds are fine, but as most of the stuff on there is small php files it goes under 10kb/s.

What FTP are you using? I use FileZilla and each time I go to upload a lot of files I always have to go into the options and change it from uploading one file at a time to unlimited, that speeds it up a lot. What host are you with?

I'm using SmartFTP, server is running PureFTPd and host is GoDaddy.

I've have a peek in the options and can't seem to find anything, will acquire FileZilla and see if it works.

Edit: I found 2 wordpress/phpbb bridge like things, and neither seemed to work.

Edit: Max of 2 connections per IP. :/ Anyway to zip, gzip, tar or anything server side first?
