Right im in trouble and i need advice. I was chatting to some work mates on monday and one made a comment which is really embarrising subject for me and it made me feel extremely unconfortable and red faced of embarresement.
Now today it was brought up again by the same person but surronded by other ppl and that made me even more embarresed. And i can see this escalating so that everyone will eventually know and ill end up getting the mick taking out of me even more.
My problem is i could go see my union rep whos amazing btw but then he will sort it out by talking to the ppl that already know. And i know it will make it worse because they will start talking about it behind my back and ppl will find out that way, making it 10x worse by making a big deal out of it :(
 
Spread a rumour that he's gay?

Grow a spine?

Ignore all that nonsense at get on with what your paid to do?

How you deal with something like that depends on so many factors, the maturity of your workmates, the nature of the embarrassing problem and your relationship with superiors amongst them.

Any more info?
 
ask them to stop and if they don't complain to hr. it's effectively harassment or some other such potentially suable term and with plenty of witnesses.
 
Hehe could be worse, friend of mine said (in jest) that a girl colleague had AIDS..ended up spreading round the whole department and made her break down in tears at her desk...he wasn't particularly popular with her for a while!!!

blimey he would have been fired in our place!
 
It really would help if we knew what it was.

If it's not particularly embarrassing then I would suggest just confronting your inner demons and being open about it, in due course normal life resumes and everyone forgets about it.
 
Sorry dude once its started to leak out theres no way of stopping it, you wont be able to stop anyone else finding out about it. Best way to deal with it is damage limitation, but as I don't know whats happened I can't suggest how to go about that.
 
The subject they have me extremely embarresed about which they know my little secret on is a the subject which i havent done yet and i find it a very embarrsing subject.
Please i really do need advice on this work problem :(
 
OK so you have a secret and you feel very embarassed about it. Your collegues know this and thus are starting to make fun out of you.

Do you think they will have any fun if they know you don't care about this "embarassing" thing that they know?

turn the situation around, have fun with them instead!

thats something i cant do as when i get embarrsed i get bright red and very uncomfortable it cant be helped :(
