Work Email

100% work. Perhaps some stuff between colleagues that could be taken as not entirely 'professional', but it's still in my mind within work. No random external stuff.

wrong, if your using their email system on their hardware you have no expectation to privacy. it is not your personal email it is the companies email account they are letting you use.
as showing in the email policy you agree to when you get it.

not true unfortunately, they'll check e-mails for plenty of reasons...

I was looking at this the other day when searching for some AU laws for it, this came up in regards to the UK ..

Note:

Note, however, these exceptions do not apply to personal emails, which means your employer should take all reasonable measures to avoid opening them -- even those sent from a workplace email account.

Your employer should confine itself to looking solely at the address/heading of your business emails unless it is absolutely essential for a valid and defined reason to examine the content (e.g., to prevent a crime). Moreover, to minimise intrusion, employers should as far as practicable utilise automated systems to monitor email.

Both personal and work I also have access to my boss email but I don't work on an office he uses emails mostly for the office work he has to do at weekends but I use my email if I need a drawing or a wiring diagram sending out to me on site

I use my work email for most things. Even eBay, insurance quotes, Facebook.

Guess it depends on your job, companies policy etc, a lot of others do the same. I have a work laptop too though which means I have don't both with another computer at home. I travel a fair bit too and like everything on one device and one account.

I don't really email friends about non work stuff. Isn't that what parents do :p
