Work Experience

Understandably, the nature of the placement is important. I was lucky enough to get a years placement doing highly technical and quite secretive work. Came with several NDAs though.
Ahh if I had a work placement person for a year it would be different, but I only get them for a day or less.

Why not get him / her to shadow you? The most fun I had on my work experience was watching someone actually go through their working day. Unless you have nothing better to do than post on internet forums all day, thus making you look a bit weird and a total slacker :D

make a list of things for him to acquire...

long stand
elbow grease
sky hooks
tin of frozen peas

...should keep him busy

Shadowing would be good if we had lots of practical things to do on the day in question. Not so good if it is churning out quotes and reading through military standards though.

I did my work experience at a local Golf club.
Was wicked! Except when I had to trim around each hole with a pair of scissors lol

I wasnt referring to this specific incident.

I dont think.

I think work for a pre-GCSE 15 year old is slightly different than for a uni student.
