work life

I am sorry but you guys are paying for your laziness in Uni.

I worked pretty much solid (except for first year of course) when I was in Uni, like 12 hours a day including weekends.

Upon leaving Uni (this July) I have a job that I really enjoy and pays well and find life way easier and better than Uni.

What goes round comes around.

Being too well educated can be as damaging as having wasted your time at Uni - and I think there are far more variables than that. Where you're looking for work, your current debts, type of work, etc. Just ask the legions of qualified, hardworking medical docs out there who are having a hard time.

I've done a few jobs now and got a cushy one at the minute but I can't see myself being happy working for someone else.

Got a few ideas in mind at the minute that I'm thinking through and even just doing that has made me a lot happier.

Working as an employee does have a lot of benefits but I figure that if I have to spend so much of my life working then I might as well do it for myself instead of some shareholders somewhere.

It's annoying how quickly you settle into the routine though. I still wish for the weekends to come but whenever I do have time off it feels a little wasted if I do nothing. Guess it just makes you appreciate what little free time you have.
