Ok ok I know, I think it was Johnny that said Give malc 2 weeks & he will post a work suxs thread well here it is :D
I've just had my 2 nights off & am about to start my 3rd week & think I now know how all you guys feel on a Monday morning :( Whose idea was it for me to get a job that's what I want to know & why have I been trying so hard over the years, I must have been Mental :p
Don't panic though your Tax moneys are safe I am no quitter, Nights is absolute crap, Completly messes with your head your belly your sleep the lot **** that. I reckon now I have a job I will stand up better in future interviews & will be more of a prospect to future employers. My Honest & Truthful reason for seeking the new job will be to get off nights so it won't be like owt is moody. It may take me 6 weeks it may take 6 months but one way or tuther I have to get back to a normal time zone rather than this Zombie shift BS.
I'll have to rev myself up good & proper before I go in tonight so as not to make it tuff for myself, I certainly don't want to go to work all doom & gloom. Far better to go in & enjoy the shift so that time passes quickly :)
I went out scouting for jobs today though & plan on getting myself a day job, Personally an early shift would suit me better I think, summit around the 6am till 3pm time.
The time off on nights falls all wrong, I finish at 8am wednesday so am completly ****** so sleep all day, then I slept all night, Then I had Thursday to myself & back to work Friday, That suxs, On a day shift I could do 12 hour shifts 5 days a week & still get 2 full days & nights off. Worst thing about this night shift are the breaks, An hour & a half in all, What the **** is all that about, I am Not there to sit on my batty drinking tea, If I am there I want to work & get payed for it or go home, I am there for 9 hours & only get paid for seven & a half, I am doing 5 nights & only clocking 36 & a half hours in all. I could do 10 hours a day 5 days a week & have an hour a day & clock 45, It don't make sense.
Roll on pay day as I am sure it will make things seem a little bit more worth while.
Cheers for reading.

What do you hate about work then ?

What I hate is that about an hour ago some blind lad came in with his guide dog and ask me to write out address labels for him, so he could get his letters in the postbox. Took ages, but I couldn't really say no could I?

Anyway, finished up and helped him out, locked the door only to find the guide dog has took a crap on the floor. :(

Thought those things were meant to be well trained. to be fair, it was whining a fair bit.

What do you hate about work then ?

- Interruptions: I'm the front line for public calls in the team, which at best means a quick interruption, at worst means I have to drop everything I was doing to deal with a problem, only to have 8 voicemails when I come back to the office.

- Taking over / care of colleague's works because a) they can't / are too lazy to do them; b) they do a lousy job at it if they tried.

- Overloaded with work, but don't receive support and everyone still asks me for help on things they could do themselves

- Being excluded in projects that I know more than anyone else in the whole team, which often results in later problems, which I always have to deal with, or just seeing sub-par quality products.

On the up side, I get paid more than I would have done as an admin person - even though I couldn't go into the specialist area I want / should be in within the team. Also it's a feel good job and I get to hear nice stories from some callers, and 99% of people would smile at you in the organisation.

I can't talk to the other nice staff when serving customers :P

Naah, it's just dull and repetitive. I'm not really interested in the products either.

Got fairly decent wages for my age, and as a part time job a company can't treat me any better than they do really. Work meal was at Delia Smith's restaurant, and as well as having the meal paid I get my hourly wage for the duration of it. Got paid £25 for having a posh meal. Win-win :)

I'm lucky if i get a £5 voucher for xmas. :(

Every 12months they ship my work offshore and move me somewhere else. Although I'm hoping to move elsewhere early in the new year.

Got a £20 bonus as well. Worked there 10 months at weekends only. It's not brilliant but combined with everything else it certainly isn't bad!

Well if there was a team of people whose Default mode was Lol instead of whinge out loud my place wouldn't be to bad as my job is easy & the environment is sound enough. Trouble is these other people there are collegues rather than mates so don't really get my jokes :p I'd like tunes on All night & banter as we work, A half hour break in 8 hours & job done cya laterz under my 15 togg quilt within 15mins :D
