Work used Blackberry

So if you take the back cover off and shake it, the battery comes out? Sounds knackered to me.

Take it in to your manager, take off the back cover and vigorously shake the BB until the battery falls off, he'll surely understand then.

not sure if serious ?

if it is a serious point, then that's a joke because you wouldn't normally make a phone call with the back cover off while riding a rodeo horse shaking you all over the gaf ?

You should at the very least a platinum plated iPhone. Anything less is a direct insult to your worth as an employee.

Blackberry? You got a job as a peasant?

Work provide me with an iPhone 4S. U MAD?

Also if the battery doesn't stay in then its broken. They hate you so much they've given you a broken phone.

Did that Blackberry model exist 5 years ago?

Nope, been out for maybe 2 yrs max.

I look after my companies Blackberry handsets and network, with around 12 handsets (8520) currently in use, we don't necessarily buy brand new kit for employees as long as the current kit works and is of a respectable standard - nicks/chips and scuffs are acceptable.

Bottom line is that your company is under no obligation to provide you with the latest brand new tech.

Indeed, its the same at my work although i make sure my boss buys me the latest and greatest BB ie the 9900 at the moment. The rest of the peasants are carrying Bold 9780's although im in the process of getting my boss to replace them with 9790's.

More likely as 'village idiot' :)

It's only there so they can harass you late at night or whatever, it's not like it's your personal phone. It's 2g anyway, not like you're going to be using it much aside from the odd harassment / mails.
