Working from home...

They always sound like scams so I've never really looked into them but I'd be interested to hear from anyone who's actually applied to one of these jobs.

My pyramid scheme, let me tell you about it.

I know plenty of people who work from home but they are contracted to do so, i.e. their home is their office. I think you're talking about the 'MAKE MILLIONS FOR DOING NOTHING !!!1!' adverts you sometimes see.

there are things you can do to make money from home, and even companies you can work for where you solely work from home
they aren't going to make you much and how hard you have to work will depend on what the job is.

I work from home sometimes, but that’s just a perk of the job not one of these scams you see stuck to lamp posts.

These usually work like this. The job itself is some sort of manual labour, building or assembling things at home. A small outlay gets you the kits to create these items. Then you are supposed to spend your time assembling the kits and send them back to the company who sells them on and you make a huge profit.

However what would generally happen is you send back say 100 of these assembled kits. Maybe 90 of them get rejected as not meeting their 'rigourous quality standards' and you only get paid for the final 10. Probably not even enough to cover your initial outlay for the kits.

Too good to be true.

None of the above links say what you do. Work from home but what do you do?

You can work for online gambling companies from home if they have hosts/chat moderators.

Just a case of logging in and chatting :)

I did one them when i was approx 20(long time ago) and it was legit but mind numbing. used to go and collect box's of invoices and apply the company logo and address from another sheet on like a stickey label. was £7 a box so not bad money back then. Hardly pay the bills but fubded cigg money :p

Avon is a good way to make money but I doubt it'd appeal to straight men. I used to do it and earned around £50 a week

I've done it twice. Once at university for AQA6336 earning about £200 a week (<20 hours), and then again working for myself before we got an office.

Yup. This is what most of the legit ones involve. Putting letters in envelopes and then putting a sticker on them (or something similar).

In the adverts they usually exaggerate how quickly it can be done (ie, how much money you can make).
