Working out if it's a write off?

I don't want to know what that is on the bumper by the offside fog light :(

At least no one, apart from the deer, was injured. To confirm others thoughts, that will be a write off

Well it has been deemed a write off...I'm a bit apprehensive what they will offer me, what do they look up to get a rough estimate of it's value?

I'd start looking on Autotrader for cars of the same model, spec and mileage to get an idea of what they're selling for privately. They shouldn't be offering you any less than that IMO.

You were fairly lucky last deer one of my drivers hit meant he had to be cut out of his van.

I ran over a muntjac deer and it knackered 2 wheels on my murano. Buckled one and split the other.

I had to take evasive when a family of big deer walked out in front of me last year. That would have been very messy. Big male with massive antlers. A female and a couple of little ones.

Not really something we have to think about in the north west. But head to Norfolk or Devon and their are loads. Plus they seem to go nuts during rutting season.

Sorry to hear this, it is crazy the damage which wildlife can cause to cars and unfortunately there is nothing you can do to prevent it! At least no one was hurt.

Sorry to hear about this pal, I would say its a write up! but i agree with the above post atleast no one was hurt.

Has it done any damage under the car?

I thought I would post what I feel is a pretty good end to this incident...They offered me £3500 settlement which is a lot more than I envisaged as similar models with less miles topped out at this price. With excess removed I'd be getting £3250.

I was anticipating getting around £1500 trade in so I was pretty damn wrong there.

Apart from my next policy going up all had ended well.

RIP Deer and Pug!
