I work in a busy workshop and Im looking to spent upwards of £80 on a decent pair of comfortable safety boots. I have narrowed my search down to these two.

Im wondering if anyone one here from the motor trade or anywhere else for that matter had experiences with either brand in terms of comfort and durability?
Im leaning towards the Timberlands, but Im finding reliable feedback on both hard to come by so I thought I would asked here, I usually find the advice given here spot on :)

had a pair of the cat boots they were great, comfortable and lasted well, my co-worker had a pair of the timberland and found them uncomfortable and the sole wore quickly on them *they were a different design to the timberlands that you have selected *

The cat boot will be the winner here.
That little rivet below the laces really help keep the boot together for longer.
Heavy boot but comfy and longer lasting.

I have some Mack Boiots for working at the Quarry, Altoght much lighter then normal boots and altough hjaving fairly good leather they have already had some of the stiching rip and the ankle padding rip off and only hanging by the leather at the front.

Wont get mack agian

From what i here these are great boots, Also look at Redbacks.

They do look cool but that grey would clash with my black trousers:p

Trainers are great but find they dont as last long as boots. Could barely manage a year out of my last two pairs of safety trainers so Im a bit wary.
Boots are clumsy sometimes but once worn in they tend to loosen up.
Driving small cars is an issue though, saxo's are especially bad even with normal shoes, horrible pedal layout.

Im planning on buying some safety trainers for summer use.

Like the look of those Strata boots, another one to consider:)

Having worn safety boots or shoes for the last 25 years, I recently discovered that those with a composite toe cap are the most comfortable. They are much lighter than those with a steel toe cap and so easier on the feet.

The CAT ones have high regard where I work/have worked...

Personally I just wear a pair of £30 steel toe capped safety boots from brantano, lasts me about a year and comfortable enough. Safety wise they are adequate for my job.

Have had a pair of Cats for about 5years, a little worn on the sole now but they have otherwise been totally bulletproof and comfortable for 10hr shifts. My choice for sure.

I cant rate these enough

I think the major thing with work boots is the safety Vs breathability aspect, most boots are very comfortable once broken in, but a lot suffer from the "trench foot" factor, if you are working 10-12 hours in an industrial environment, that becomes very important.
