Getting a decent gaming rig in about six months, but need something for basic office use & web browsing in the mean time. Budget is around £400, could probably stretch to £500 if it's worth it. Was going to just chose one of the OcUK Value pre built systems, but apparently the power supplies aren't too good. I do plan on keeping this build for use as a home server once I upgrade, otherwise I'd take the risk.

Parts I don't need:
Operating system - will be using a linux distro, probably Ubuntu
Monitor - I have an ancient Dell monitor with DVI & VGA connectivity

Parts I do need:
Eveything else, including keyboard/mouse.

No size is not an issue (no innuendo intended)
Think I will stick with that first build, there's plenty of room for extra hard drives when the time comes.

One question regarding that motherboard - is there an ethernet port? Can't see one, maybe I've missed it. It's not a big issue really, can always pick up a usb wifi thingamajig.

Thanks again, much appreciated.

EDIT: Disregard that ethernet question, I'm an idiot and managed too not see it.

Best idea,

Yes, there is. If you look at the picture, its ontop of two USB posts next to the colourful audio ports.

In the description its called a "10/100/1000 (LAN)". :)

Hope you have a good build.

Ah, that'll be why I missed it the first few times. Was looking for "ethernet" or "network" or something, not numbers.
Thanks again DoomedSpeed.
OcUK should pay commission to their helpful forum members, I'd have probably just bought a cheap prebuilt thing from elsewhere if I wasn't aware of the community here.
