Muller was the best player today, he went down a little easy in a couple tackles, but that was after being pretty battered throughout and had his wrist stamped on, he was forward for every attack, back making blocks in his own box for almost every Uruguay attack, made tackles, superb interplay, almost any 1-2 played by Germany had him as the "2". He delivered some great crosses and was quite easily the best player on the pitch.
It was the interplay, the 1-2's, the always moving into space, the high workrate and the inteligent defending that they massively massively missed against Spain.
Today they had a weakened team, Cacau is just complete crap, his touch was awful, his shooting was awful, his decision making and passing was awful, haven't seen anything from him in any game that suggests he should be in the squad. Boateng was woeful for about 60 minutes then made a lot of good(or maybe lucky) interceptions as he was WAY out of position the majority of the game, the left back should have been off, did smeg all when he stayed on. The guy who got a goal and played left wing, just doesn't look like a winger, Khedira was awful throughout defensively, the amount of runs he ignored into the box, missing in action for all the goals, barely tried to get back, mostly useless defensively, but decent goal.
I think if Klose, Podolski, Lahm had played in the game today, it would have been another demolishion job by Germany.
I'm really irritated we didn't see Germany with Muller play against Spain, I'm not saying they'd have won, but their entire attack looked disjointed. I have no idea why people have decided Oezil is truly brilliant, he had one great game, an decent game, and 3-4 incredibly average games. Work rate wise he rarely gets back, defensively is zero help, doesn't push hard in attack, doesn't tackle, doesn't close down and he certainly wasn't soo good going forward that you can understand him doing less defensive work. Missing Muller, and being denied a clear as day penalty and that 1-0 SPain victory is incredibly dodgey, as was their lack of red cards for Ramos in almost every game he's played. With better ref's, I can't see Spain being in the final, dodgey decisions against Portugal, Paraguay and Germany, all of which had massive effects on the game, no reds given when they should have been, red's to the other side, lack of punishment for obvious fouls, penalties not being given.
No matter who wins tomorrow it will feel like a team cheated to win and doesn't deserve it.
Klose was a huge miss today because he has been soo damn good at holding the ball up and distributing the ball in inteligent area's, Cacau is just crap to be honest.
