Did you see Argentina in the qualifiers? :p

LOL exactly...id like to Argentina win this but with Maradona in charge no one can really predict what they will do.

Messi will need to be a Maradona if Argentina expect to win this group.

messi will be marked out of the game. i don't think argen should base the game around 1 player. don't get me wrong, his fantastic but its a 11 man team not 1 man army.

Can you mark Messi out of a game? There are definitely games he's less prominent in but you just can't predict what ones they'll be.

Argentina have a lot more to their squad than just Messi. In fact I would argue they have the best set of strikers in any squad going to the World Cup; Aguero, Higuain, Milito and Tevez

I can't see them going too far based on what I saw in the qualifiers. Maradona doesn't know whether his teams are coming or going and some of the defending was criminal at the best of times. Not to mention the fact he's left out Cambiasso which I think is a huge mistake.

I honestly think out of all the various national pools of players, Argentina have the most talent to draw upon, along with Spain and Brazil, and they really should be reaching the Final.

I'm sure any of us that have played Football Manager look at those 100-odd players that that crazy old Coke fiend has used in qualifying, and salivate at the prospect of picking a squad of 23 from them...world class everywhere apart from perhaps the keepers. Then you look at Maradona's 23 and the palm instantly hits the face. Such a baffling selection: Cambiasso and Zanetti were consistently brilliant for Inter en route to their Champs League win and aren't included. Instead of players well-regarded in Europe like Lucho Gonzalez, Ever Banega and to a lesser extent Gago, he's picked the ancient Véron! Lisandro Lopez has looked impressive whenever I've seen him play for Porto/Lyon, and yet Maradona picks 36 yr old Martin Palermo, who is slower than my Nan, and more injury-prone.

They'll probably knock us out though. On penalties after a late handballed equaliser.

Must say i don't know too much about the defence or midfielders! The strike force looks immense, but honestly....no cambiasso or zanetti? Ludicrous.

Well luckily for Argentina they have some world class strikers so wont really rely on Messi to score a lot of goals. Saying that i hope Maradona doesnt stop him from playing his natural game.

Defensively Argentina look very weak..leaving out Zanetti and Cambiasso is possibly one of the more dumber decisions hes made.

Argentina are going to struggle i think...their defence surely will.

I'm not going to make the mistake I did last time and watch any Greece games, I wanted to top myself before half time. Most boring footballing side I have ever seen.

9-0-1 formation with Charisteas up front like some kind of lonely doric column to hold up the ball, whilst the 9 defenders make sure they have everyone man-marked in readiness for the next attack?

South Korea v Greece kicking off soon.

This is the first game i'm watching in HD. Have to say, ITV's HD is really quite something. You can really see how old Edgar Davids is :p
