Keeping an eye on the Argie match, their defence is terrible. There is no reason to make Samaras look half decent.
 
Greece defended for the entire match and still didn't go for it when they were certain to go out, surely the coach must have known they were out and had to play something?
 
Another largley meh game Argies and Greece....really fustrating that ie seeing a team just defend like dogs for 90 mins and not really try and attack....thank god greece are out because if they went through at the expense of SK then id be pretty livind because lets face it....they just didnt deserve to go through.

And as much as i dislike Mick commentating, he was making some good points about the greeks and how they play football...just boring boring BORING...made me laugh his sarcasm ie everytime a greek player went down he was saying now thats really professional:D. I mean greece must have had about 3 shots on goal through the whole game lol...dire and pathetic from them.

I could see the Argies getting fustrated...Messi was marked out of the game by greece so they got that right i suppose:p...but the last 5 mins or so he finally broke free but then greece were trying to attack without much success:p....should have had a goal Messi and i feel for him but he didnt let it get to him....am just glad the Argies finally broke the deadlock and smacked 2 past the Greeks...was damn awesome to see Palermo whos 36 to get a goal...awesome stuff.

Argies looking very very good for the WC final...will be interesting to see how they play against Mexico in the last 16...should be a good one.
 
I really don't fancy the argies to win it. Greece have shown how to shackle Messi and if the team is diciplined enough the argies really struggled. Greece did the best thing, shackle messi and try to nick one in the 2nd half.

Funnily enough no one is saying messi isn't world class even though this is the 2nd world cup where he hasn't done much.

For me Veron looked their best player, accurate passing at a variety of distances and didn't give the ball away very often. Messi gave it away like an england player.
 
whilst not an epic game last night between arg v greece , i did think it was pretty good especially from argentina who kept their cool and eventually got their reward, greece were stupid with their defending - it got them nowhere.

anyway i still think argentina are gonna win it, they have the passion, skills and the right team.

:/ ermmm probably due to the fact that Messi everytime he had the ball was surrounded by 3-4 greek players...you try and beat 3-4 players and see how far you get lol...thats about the only good thing the Greeks did other than that they just stifled the game in all honesty and i absolutely loathe teams that do crap like that...how they won Euro 2004 is beyond me but thankfully they are out.

Messi is desperately unlucky to not have bagged a few goals by now...much like Torres...compared to Rooney, hes done much more for Argentina ie making sure they win their games whether he scores or not....mind you Argentina havent really had to rely on him to win games as they have a few players who all chip in and make things happen ie Masc, Tevez and Higuain etc.

The only thing that concerns me about Argentina is their suspect defence...so far no team has really been able to trouble them as they keep the ball pretty much to themselves...will be interesting to see how they deal with Mexico next week but i think they will win that pretty much....i think the QF's will put them up against a team that may pose them problems in their defence.

No he wasn't, he was tightly marked by one very very well. If like you say he was constantly surrounded by 3-4 then it says even less for Argentina if they still struggled to break down the greeks.

LOL oh dear you obviously didnt watch the game did you Danny??...yes he was marked by one guy but soon as he had the ball he was surrounded by a few of them...have a look at the game again if you can.

I think any team would have struggled to break down the Greeks...its what they are good at ie putting 11 men behind the ball...plus dont forget Maradona made 7 changes to his squad...so he didnt have Higuain or Tevez, who in the last game was pretty damn good...all the greeks had to do was mark out Messi which they did to some effect and they killed the game off till the 2 late goals.

Anyhow thats my opinion of what i saw last night...
