surprised at that, he's one of my star performers for the national team on FM2010! :D

Paraguay were very impressive in qualification weren't they, will be interesting to see if they can top the group. I know the resident South American football expert at the bbc is tipping them as dark horses.
 
Match finished Italy 1 Mexico 2.

I've not seen a performance that inept since well... ever, Italy could barely string 2 passes together all match.

The Italians did look very poor indeed. You would still expect them to get through this group though.

i would not be so sure dude. They scraped win's in the group stages before qualifying for wc. scoring last minute goals in like most of their games. Hardly played decent football, i don't think they will get far in all honesty.

Believe me England were much better on the ball. :eek:

From what the commentator said Italy's manager has selected players who he believes will play well as a unit rather than just chosing big name players, on tonights performance he wants his head checking.

I quite fancy Paraguay to beat them opening game after seeing that display, certainly won't be putting any money on Italy.
 
Paraguay seem to be the dark horses of this tournament along with Serbia, I don't think they'll top the group, but I can't see Slovaki going through and I'll be amazed if NZ get more than 1 point.
 
Wouldnt write off the Italians...last time round like the French they had a slow start but still managed to make it to the final and win it with some utterly boring football.

I hope they get knocked out though...they are full of aging footballers now arent they??....but saying i wouldnt be surprised if they bloody well win the WC again.
 
looking forward to tonights match..mainly because it will be my first opportunity to see Riveros hopefully

paraguay finished ahead of argentina in the qualification group so have a half decent team but may miss cabanas after his attempted murder
