World Cup Group E (Czech Rep, Ghana, Italy, USA) **SPOILERS**

Real tough group this. Ghana should finish bottom. As for the other 3 teams I havent got a clue. Czechs are 2nd in the world IIRC but they have a few players carrying injuries. Italy are full of controvesy and seem to choke on the big stage. USA are ranked 5th in the world (how are they that high?) On paper according to world rankings it should be Czech, USA, Italy then Ghana.

I'd say Czech Republic and Italy to qualify from this group. I think the USA will show their stinky form and the Italians will finally show some World Cup promise. However, losing Gattuso will be a blow.
 
Agreed but he could be fit for there last game. Also Zambrotta and Nesta are out for the first game too. I hope Pirlo hits form. He's a great player when he hits top gear but was quiet towards the end of the season.

Italy have had a bout of bad luck with injuries. Nothing major hopefully, Zambrotta should be back with Gattusso. Nesta should be starting. I have a strong feeling about Italy but also this little niggle that they may just go out quietly again :(

I have a feeling the Czechs and Italians should go through, but you cant underestimate Ghana and USA will definitely not be a pushovers.

Do you think the whole scandel will effect them or will it be the last thing on there minds?

I think they will have put that behind them and focus on what is important. Also I’m worried about Totti, hasn’t really convinced me about his fitness :(

Pirlo who is also the key playmaker for Italy is below par, has been for much of the season for Milan. I just hope everything falls in place.
 
Hopefully Totti can get at least 180-200 minutes under his belt during the group stage and if Italy get through he should be able to get back into some form. It might not even take him that long. I agree Pirlo has not been at his best but he's had time to rest and hopefully will come out firing on all cilinders.

These are gonna be the best matches in the group stages (not including England's games ;) ). TBH I think that the Yanks will qualify along with the Czech Rep, Italy are getting to be more like Spain, first to qualify & first to go home :D

didn't they lose to zambia in qualifying? maybe they are better as you say, but they are still awful compared to the others in the group. They were pretty damn awful in the African cup of nations.
