the problem is not that it bent towards the keeper only that it ended up too close to the keeper and a taller and better one would have saved it, he should have hit it slightly more left and it would have gone in the top corner. Alternatively, he should have hit the ball straight (not with the outside of the foot) and put a bend on it to the left away from the keeper.

In any case, he scored, just noting that it wasn't that good a shot.
