Does anyone else here follow the WEC racing series?

The 2025 championship is starting this weekend at Qatar

I started playing the Le Mans Ultimate sim racing game in January this year, and now into R3 in two of the Hypercar and Mixed (Hypercar and GT3) online Championships. This game got me back interested in WEC Series and I will defo be following the races on YT and the FIA TV channel . This year the grid of cars and drivers looks stacked !

This is the 2025 season schedule (UK times are shown)

New Hypercar this year : Aston Martin Valkyrie V12, sounds quite spicy :)

Yeah, I might do, the pass from the FIA WEC website is 60 EUR which is not too bad. Will definitely watch the Le Mans 24hrs (or part of it anyway).

I assume some bits will still be shown on TNT now that Eurosport has moved over. Still 60 EUR is a lot cheaper than £30/month.

Is it just me that thinks racing should be.. ya know.. fast and frenetic... and not 6-24hrs long? :p

Sorry, I won't divert the thread.

Great win for Ferrari - talking 1st, 2nd and 3rd - 2.6 seconds separating the top 3, after 10 hours racing, with 4th place (BMW) 9 seconds back

And here we are in Imola...
I love Imola :)
I raced 2x 2 hour races on LMU yesterday, with rain half way through for about 50 mins. It's a challenging circuit.

Just watching FP3 - lots of red flags : Kubica's 499p with a gearbox failure and getting tractor lifted off :

The locals seem to love it, there's been swarms of people since Friday, it was only FP1/2, FP3 and quali today, early finish for us, then race tomorrow, I don't get why people care about long races, its 6 hours, who has that sort of time...
No doubt loads of people will be wandering off with old tyres, fuel drums and bits of bodywork by the time we pack up tomorrow night..

Still sunny, somethings not right...

I tihnk I prefer the Porsche Carrera Cup races, there's a lot more "rubbing" involved, where the WEC cars actively try not to run into each other, the Cup guys don't give a poop...

Went along yesterday; wasn't expecting so many people  Almost 100k turned up.
Pitlane access was a farce (see Reddit). Managed to meet Button while he was signing stuff. I called him a ******* legend and he seemed genuinely humble in his response :D

Not many screens to watch the action but overall a fun day out with the kids. They enjoyed it more than me I think. I prefer to watch the action on the couch so I can actually see what is happening on track :o

Caught up on Eurosport - lots of action! Le Mans should be a good one.

Haha Jensons' sound, he was a completely different guy when he was doing F1, changed him as it was properly serious and all that money involved etc, since he's now doing other stuff its almost like theres less on the line and he actually enjoys driving again..

It was very peoply yesterday, supposed the weather held tbh, we were expecting rain, because, Spa...

If you were there with the kids you should have dropped me a PM, me and 2 other guys are there on general support, but we have dedicated support for Penske and WRT, could have probably gotten you a bit more access..
