Anybody watching this? There's a really good field this year.

Tiger has just been knocked out by Shaun Micheel. :) I was in the bookies when Micheel was 2 up with 10 to play (i think) and noticed that Micheel was still 33-1 to win the outright tournament. I snapped up the 33-1 and watched the price tumble down to around 7-1 after Micheel completed an easy victory.

I also took the 14-1 on Karlsson when he was something like 4 up with 8 to play. He's now around 6-1. :)

1st Round Results:-

Michael Campbell (1) beat Simon Khan (16) 3&1
Colin Montgomerie (9) beat David Howell (8) 1 up
Paul Casey (12) beat Retief Goosen (5) 6&4
Mike Weir (13) beat Adam Scott (4) 3&2
Robert Karlsson (14) beat Jim Furyk (3) 4&3
Angel Cabrera (11) beat Ernie Els (6) 2&1
Luke Donald (7) beat Tim Clark (10) 2 up
Shaun Micheel (15) beat Tiger Woods (2) 4&3

I'm in a dilemma now.

I have the 33-1 on Micheel and 14-1 on Karlsson but they are now playing each other in one semi-final.

I somehow have to back either/or Casey or Montgomerie to win outright so in the end, i cannot lose whatever the outcome.

Casey is 4 up after 11 holes with Monty so he's likely to be around 11-8 to win the tournament. I'd need to put a fair bit on him to make sure i come out on a profit.

My dad picked Jeff Ogilvy for this last year at 40/1, even after the first round he was 20/1, needless to say,he went on to win it. It's one of those tournaments where backing a long shot really does pay off! Did you back casey in the end? When i looked this morning he was 4/7, micheel 5/4 :/

Micheel did get a bit of a thrashing, losing 10&8.. light work for casey :p

cant believe Paul Casey, was one of my mates at school (Hampton Grammar) we all used to take the mickey out of him for playing golf, now he won a million quid! Good on him!

You mean he picked Michael Campbell who beat Geoff Ogilvy and then went on to win the championship, right?

Minus tax, caddy's cut, agent's cut, etc etc!

Still not bad for a few day's work. Congrats to Popeye and roll on the K Club.

Luckily, i had a bit of my possible profit off Micheel on Casey at 8-15.

I ended up with a slight profit but thats the aim of the game....profit! :)
