World of Warcrack? anyone feeling the urge?

All you have to think is 'am i enjoying having the 80quid extra a year that can be spent on a 2 decent one off payment games as opposed to one ridiculously expensive game'.

Its amazing how long it takes the patch the damm game.

Used to be able to install it and run about 5 patches. Now a total of about 10Gb of patching!!

Im going to re-roll anyway, i think it will be better to do this than pick up an old character personally. As Its been almost a year since I played, it will feel like a new game. Considering the new talents and skills.

Stuck downloading the 3.0.2 patch now, sodding blizzard updater is soo slow!

This time around I do plan to keep the game as casual as possible, I work nights get in at 2am, and need something to unwind me for 2 hours after work. So I am going to try and play as much then rather than it eating up my day time and weekends. I hope that I can control it.

casual is ok as long as you can find others to play with who will wait. I found no guild willing to take me in when i said i only play sat/sun, another reason i gave it up.

IM starting to feel the twitch. Stopped playing a year or so ago with a 55 rogue, basically because of a new baby. Now things are quietening down im starting to feel the calling - but yeah id want to play casually and theres just no margin for that in the endgame where you need uber tiered gear etc etc etc. Warcraft perhaps or is it the same?

I am not sure, can you login to your account and use the contact feature there perhaps?

I THINK I have the contact details in the WOTLK manual, I can post when I get back from work.

I dont have it installed since I have exams coming up in December.
Would appreciate the contact details if you could supply it DA.

That was exactly how wow was the first time 6 months ago, but I had the opposite with WAR, with war I couldnt be bothered to log in, it felt dull, lifeless, little twists and turns with the quests, and ridden with bugs.

I would also advise never let other guildmates bother you in terms of rank and attendence, when your trying to outrank someone, or prove yourself to a guild its much less fun. Ive found that allowing myself to get annoyed at other guildmates lowers my enjoyment of the game, there are plenty of casual guilds out there, so go and find another one..

well i happened to be leading one of the more forward guilds on my server on order. And consdeiring order were heavily outnumbered that ctually ment quite a bit for our server. So there were people who were manics who played non stop and it made me look bad when they are ranking up 300k of exp every day and im doing say 100k because like you, i started to loose intrest quickly.

I then had a problem wid my internet and i couldn't log on for near a week, i got on and they had all jumped ship lol. Meh i was glad i was gona hand it all over to em anyway because i wernt intrested in playing any longer.

I want to start playing again but for me I actually don't feel like going back to it more than I do want to play WotLK, because I know it will just be the same ol' grind once you reach 80.

It is possible to enjoy the game without getting obsessed, it's taken me 10 months to get to lvl 67 at < 5 hours a week but it's still a fun game.

Sometimes you just need to step back and get a new perspective, you don't have to go cold turkey either, it's not difficult.

I cancelled my account back at the end of 06 or 07 (cant remember now lol). Obviously its more than 6 months.
Do you think I would be able to get my old Level 70 character back? Or is it now lost forever :( ?

If you can remember your account details it's as simple as just logging into the website and resubbing I think. Characters never get deleted for inactivity, only stored somewhere.

Ouch that must suck now realising you were almost there, but now you've got another 10 levels dumped on top of it! :p

I've done worse, i played an orc shaman from launch and gave up at lvl56 after 9 months.

A year later i started the game again and joined the ocuk guild, so levelled another orc shaman to where i am now.

Total time to hit 60 = 19months :D

it was a big moment when i hit lvl 57 a few months ago i tell you :p could finally play bits of the game i hadn't seen already...enjoying it a lot more now as well, more casual friendly.

Is that so Fish? You 100% sure?
I dont want to reactivate and then find Ive erased my character by accident or something :D

What I don't get is why don't you 'oldtimers' just get the expansion, play for a few months or however long it takes to get up to level 80 and experience the new quests etc and then quit? Worried that you'll get hooked and won't be able to put it down again? Surely that can't be so bad, I mean if you get hooked you must be enjoying it on some level.
