World of Warcraft 10 day trial

WoW its about time, typically im back at work Sat night so i will have to have a go when im off again, with this and EVE im going to have no spare time :D
 
what a crock, its not like the other MMO out there where you download the trial (2.75GB) and if you like it you just upgrade online and start paying a monthly fee.

Their Disclaimer states that you must activate your trial by using a debit/credit card even though it wont be billed and then, after your 10 day trial you must go out a buy the game before you can carry on!

ive tried downloading it but the best speed i get is 40kbs, can't be botherd waiting for it to finish.

So they give you the game for free basically? Why on earth should they do that? We all payed for the game so you should aswell.

It don't charge you when you put the details in because it's trial so what exactly is the big deal? I don't know many other games out there whiched allow you to upgrade and play without buying the game. Except Lineage2 when it first came out, but then you bought it online so.

Eve Online allows it, but I just can't get into that.
 
Well I gave the trial a go, and to quote a friend "oh my god, I'd rather play paint simulator 2006". The game was so dull that I had to quickly quit ,and play BF2/hitman contracts/civ4 every 30 mins just to keep myself awake.

God knows how people can be addicted to that thing. Why do people play this game when there are so many interesting alternative games?
 
I started with this trial

then it ended my life, i went on from this trial to play the game religously for about 5 months, my social life dissapeared. Then i got to maximum level, got most of the best items and the game was no longer enjoyable so i sold my account for £110 :D

Maybe because the game has been out a while now and most places are still charging the same now as when it first came out. Plus where did i say about getting it for free?? I said upgrade online and complained about having to go out and buy it!!

As ive already got the trial it must be an up-to-date version in order for me to play on the servers, why cant i just upgrade to a full account online for half the price of buying it in the shops as all im getting is the game, not the DVD etc!

It's £17.99 brand new at blahdvd which includes 30 days subscription.

no but if you read the motors section you will see i had a car accident a few weeks ago so A)i currently have no transport and B) my back still hurts so much that it kills me to stand/walk for more than 30 mins

Thanks Pike, ill check that out as i looked for it about a month ago and couldnt find it for less than about £25

Yeah the game's been out a while now granted, only some places are charging full price still. Just have to look around. You didn't but it did sound as if you were, what's different to upgrading online and going to buy it? It's normally better when you buy it because you've got all the cd's etc.

There is an update version, but i don't know if it upgrades the trial version at all. It did on release but that was beta version upgrade, i don't know if the trial does the same.

I bought mine from there and it came in a nice fold out box type thing, I honestly didn't expect them to send it :p
 
so you have to enter your payment details into this 'trial' even though theyre not going to charge you? what a joke, im steering clear i think :rolleyes:
