I first played WoW a couple of weeks before TBC came out, so thought I'd give Classic a try so I can hopefully experience some of the raiding content that I didn't do first time around.
Quite enjoying it despite the slower pace , the Community thus far on Nethergarde Keep seems better than my recent experiences with retail.
Horde or Alliance? There's a few of us on Alliance, thinking of starting a guild, I find that most guilds are run by idiots who think that because they run a guild that they're somehow superior to everyone else, or they have stupid requirements. I found a great guild on a different server but ended up bouncing to a different server for the reasons listed below.
Surprised there hasn't been any posts on the state of world PVP if you are on Alliance side and on pvp servers. Just wanted to remind people that when BG's come out Alliance will get the last laugh, insta queues and actually fair engagements
Horde may be laughing now, but Alliance will get the last laugh later.
That doesn't really make it any less frustrating though, it's still a complete PITA and the reason many of us started on a fresh PVE server.
There's a lot of people with nothing left to do, which is why world PVP is crazy at the moment. Bit of a meh situation really as already spoke to few lower randoms in game who basically may quit because they now can't get anything done. Assume will see BG's earlier than expected, maybe they will do a Dire Maul and throw them into the mix before next raids etc.
We moved to a PVE server because of it. I was stupid to go for a PVP server but then I was sucked in by the hype on here, thinking we'd all be playing together, when in reality crap leadership, no communication and the ridiculous queues on launch meant that everyone was split all over the place. We've now started doing what we should've done from the get-go and started fresh on a PVE server which is a million times more fun. The only griefing I've encountered so far is a 19 rogue twink in Westfall killing the Defias Traitor which is an escort quest. People get annoyed and attack him, so their PVP turns on and he one-shots them. He was there for about three hours on Saturday night apparently, living his best life and fulfilling his dreams I guess.
Anyway, my lil priest is now level 17, did his first DM run last night and bagged a few bits & pieces. One thing I've noticed is that I am consistently getting compliments about my healing. Almost every run someone mentions how I'm never OOM, and that I am doing DPS too, albeit just wanding. Are other healers that poor then? Don't get me wrong, I love healing and have been doing so since LK but I didn't realise that it was
that bad. All I do is use Healbot, bind my spells properly, and then only heal what I
need to heal. The no1. rule is to avoid overhealing, and also don't heal if you don't need to so you can be regenerating mana with all that lovely spirit. Add Recount to the mix and you can really see every little detail of who's doing what so you can work on mana preservation.
I need to level up a warrior and tank for a bit, I'm keen to see how others heal to see where they're going wrong.
