Hi all,

I sold my main pc earlier this year... I nowhave a laptop I use for movies (plugged into tv)

and a alienware m11x. for games.

The main game I play is wow and looking forward to daiblo 3.

I was looking for a pc to play wow and diablo 3 on when it comes out in full res eyefinity. Now I know a 5850 isnt enough with wow to do 3 screens and I know it is major cpu intensive game.

I will need everything from screens to case etc. I really dont want a huge case either as last case I had was a antec 1200 which was too big. would be nice also if didnt have all flashy lights.

anyone price it up?

If you can build the pc on your own you surly can price parts up from clicking the web page :D if not a pre built one from ockuk will be ideal. choose your screen size 22" seems popular for 3 screens and get a 5870 min :D

Not sure what good screens are for a 3x set up, never had one but heres a start on the rig, also not sure if you need window.

Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 5970 2048MB GDDR5 Graphics Card £499.99

Intel Core i7 920 D0 Stepping (SLBEJ) 2.66GHz (Nehalem) (Socket LGA1366) - OEM £167.99

Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R Intel X58 (Socket 1366) DDR3 Motherboard £156.98

Patriot Viper 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C9 (1600MHz) Tri-Channel (PVT36G1600ELK) £129.98

Antec CP 850W Modular Power Supply £97.98

Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB SATA 6Gb/s 64MB Cache - OEM (WD1002FAEX) £89.99

Lancool Dragon-Lord PC-K62 Mid Tower Case with Window - Black £85.99

Titan TTC-NK85TZ/V2 Fenrir CPU Cooler (Socket 754/939/940/AM2/LGA775/LGA1156/LGA1366) £29.99

Sony Optiarc AD-5240S 24x DVD±RW SATA ReWriter (Black) - OEM £16.99

Hopefully the case isnt too big, Lacool make some nice cases and it has some lights :D. Also not sure how much better the Sata 3 HDD is but hopefully it can speed things up abit. Finally not 100% sure that about the GPU.

The psu only fits a few antec cases

Either change the case or the psu.

He always want to play daiblo 3 once it comes out so that might need more power.

Have you actually seen it? You will not need a 5970 for diablo 3 lol. The character models are like 4,000 pollies.

Seriously, buying a 5970 to play wow, the notorious CPU hog would be the biggest waste of money I have yet to see on these forums.

I would geta 5850 and OC it and if then, by some miracle of god, it didn't handle diablo 3 as well as you like, when it comes out, I would cross fire it.

Diablo 3 is still a year away... could be more intensive than you expect. But yeah based on past experience it was never AHEAD of the times as such in terms of graphics power, but this version does have a new variety of graphics elements in there including physics and particles never seen before in the series. I for one will be looking to play it on an eyefinity setup! :p

Thanks all....

Dont need windows key but need everything else, the reason i said a 5850 might not be good enough is beacuse I have seen a review on youtube where someone said they got slow down with full graphics on.

I would be happy with a 920 and overclock to 4ghz. not sure about the lights on the case... was looking for something more simple tbh... but they are a nightmare to find at them moment as everyone wants lights!

also budget is as cheap as can get and I would need all 3 monitors...

eyefinity is very very disappointing, I almost cried when I realised id spent all that money and ended up with something I didn't even like, the borders of the screens will start to stare into your soul, your much better forgetting about it and just spending the money on one massive monitor or at least use somebody else's eyefinity setup to see if you hate it first

btw doesn't look like anyone's mentioned this yet but WoW only uses up to three cores, thought it may be usefull

TBH WoW and Eyefinity could be really good, not in the same way you'd enjoy Left 4 Dead or something like that but if you see how the guy sets his ui out it's really good. I'd definately invest if I ever found time to raid hardcore again. grid, recount and other stuff on one screen with action bars etc (if you don't hide them!) with just SCT and SCT with your character on another.

Saw a video like that a while ago actually, one was a black screen with all that info on though, could have been using a double head or something.

add on a cpu cooler of some sort, i forgot to add one lol, corsair h-50 would do the job quite nicely for £66
