World Snooker Championship 2016

Marco Fu's tip just came off his cue.

Never seen this happen before on live TV. This could seriously mess up Marco's game. Game stopped while they fix it, but I wonder how this will affect Marco now.

He's bang in trouble. New tip was one of the reasons Mark Williams was so crap against Ding - he reckoned it takes him a week to get used to a new one.

Pro snooker players really love to exaggerate things like that, used to be players would say it took them a year to get used to a cue as well, these days players swap and change cues quite a bit.

What do people think about the pocket size debate. Most of the old pros seem sure they are bigger than normal, and I have to say I agree with them. They look embarrassingly huge.

Some of the shots I've seen go in are ridiculous, But Barry Hearn who runs snooker and darts asked Unicorn to widen their trebles and doubles so you would get more 180's and big outshots in darts. Wouldn't surprise me if he's done the same here.

But in the words of JFK.

we do these things not because they are easy but because they are hard

the whole point of snooker is the table is big, and the pockets are small.

If it's true, it's a bad move imo. There were plenty of centuries/147s already. It makes the overall spectacle fare less impressive if you cheapen the game,
