Is it close this year because non of the cream of the crop players have got to the final, and the top few, Ronnie in particular are going off the boil? Or is it more a case that these players have upped their game due to the increased number of matches they're playing?

Not really followed the season close enough to know but I have heard the latter being mentioned.
