World Superbikes 2013

Sykes and Lowes on fire again all weekend.

Can't help but think Rea is wasting his best years atm.
Either they need a new Honda (if/when it comes) or get on another bike, with or without Tenkate.

todays world superbike race day has been cancelled after a crash in heavy rain in the supersport race where Andrea Antonelli was sadly killed.

news report
Kawasaki rider Andrea Antonelli has been killed in an accident on the opening lap of the World Supersport Championship race at the Moscow Raceway.
The Italian fell on the long back straight of the Russian circuit in treacherously rainy weather conditions and was struck by the unsighted Lorenzo Zanetti in the spray.
Immediately tended to by medical staff at the circuit, it has been confirmed that Antonelli sadly succumbed to his injuries.

Aye i watched that live this morning, they red flagged immediatley & abandoned the meeting within the hour, the racing conditions where bloody awful, RIP Andrea Antonelli :(

I also watched the first WSB race, Tom Sykes has probably got himself in hot water with his team management, he was having bike issues & for reasons best known to himself, pulled off track in the 3rd lap, stopped, pulled the clutch in, then nailed the throttle to the stop until the engine exploded shooting flaming oil 3 foot away from the bike, which he promtly threw on the floor & stomped away from. v bizarre & childish.

Not the first time the bike has let him down this season and the adrenaline was running high. He's probably thinking the bike will cost him the championship.

Can't make up my mind if i would like to see Sam move up to superbike next year or to Moto2...
:)

I hope he goes to Moto2, I just don't think WSB has much of a future. Grids are low and they seem to cling onto rules that really should be for MotoGP.
I hope they go the way of BSB and take all those damn electronics off the bikes.

Sad news, two manufacturers withdrawing in the past few years. WSBK really need to take a look at their rules and costs. It's entirely possible they may look to combine the two championships in the near future.

I did like that last corner move by Eugene, Marco must have thought he had it in the bag & low & behold Eugene goes around him on the last bloody corner, Marco musta been utterly gobsmacked!.

As for Tom, what a star!, if that doesn't make up for the bitter dissapointment of last years championship, nowt will.
