worn out jockey wheels

Hi all

Rear derailleur is a sram x4, and the jockey wheels are shot, considering this is £15 to replace the whole unit, presumably it's not worth the effort to replace the jockey wheels.

Its an 8 speed cassette, so not sure whether to replace with another sram x4 or an x5 or an x7, the x7 only seems to be in 9 speed though.

Any advice on a robust economical replacement would be appreciated, the x4 seems fine apart from it's just worn out, I think, but I'd like something a bit more robust, or at least serviceable as this is only a year old, granted I've done probably 2000km in that time.

personally depending on your budget, i'd replace the derailleur and if your flush the groupset

About £7 for jockey wheels or about £18 for a new derailleur. Personally I'd save my tenner and just get the jockey wheels.

if your going for looks look at superstar jockey wheels

Not sure if the superstar website is really badly designed, I can only find some red grim looking jockey wheels!

Oh they look good and ceramic bearings too, not bad for the money, might be a bit silly though as my rear mech can be replaced for a fiver less than they cost!
