My car's getting fixed up for it's MOT, there's a big of a rigidity in the front suspension. this is usually the bushes but a guy thats gonna fix it reckons it's the wishbones. How can I (if at all) tell if this is the case over the bushes?

its a 106

ex girlfreind of fail found my main key in her house, it was the same with my passport, and other stuff, wench is gone and still costs me money

no lol it was left there, she said she looked high and low, all the time it was in a draw in the kitchen

wimin!

What do you mean there is some rigidity in the suspension? Are you expecting it to be all floppy?

This !

What you say (The OP) doesn't make any sense. When things wear out on the suspension, it doesn't go stiff, it starts rattling and there will be a bit of play in the worn component.

Short of being bent, twisted or rotten I could only imagine the wishbone failing if a bush had failed entirely and there was metal on metal. I doubt you would fail to have noticed this in use though. If that were the case I would expect what ever was connected to the wishbone through the failed bush to be knackered too... very odd.

How would there be play? It feels like I've got wooden wheels going over the slightest bump

I honestly don't know hence why I'm asking :/

Sounds more likely your shocks are seized or something or you simply fail at explaining what the car is doing :D

Play = component fails, starts eating the material it is made of, gap is left where material / rubber / metal should be, rattling clonking noise evident, upon inspection you can move the component about because it's ****ed.

Rattling and rigidity are two opposite ends of the meaning of the word spectrum !

So you do indeed fail at explaining what the car is doing in your OP after all :D

Right then... get under the car and find out what's about to fall off, basically move the suspension about until you find the loose bit and replace it.
