Worn wishbones

Try to move the front wheels backward or forwards in the wheel arch, using your foot.

If it moves around a lot then you need new bushes in the wishbone. Either by bushes and put them in the wishbone. Or get a new wishbone complete with bushes already installed.

Who says it isn't the track rod or track rod end that is worn?

Get under the thing and FIND OUT what is loose.

It could be anything. But wishbone bushes are commonly the problem and are easy to check. Muffin might not be mechanically inclined enough to get under there and figure it out...

But you cant tell him " You need bushes in the wishbone" as you don't know for sure. None of us do, hence why, if he is asking for advice, the logical answer is to say "go and bloody well check or leave it to someone who does know what they are doing" In his OP he didn't even manage to explain the problem properly so to be able to say "It's this mate" is utter nonsense and likely to cost the OP money he didn't need to spend.

I will agree that the lower rear bushes are the "likely" culprit but I cannot see the car from here so I can't say.

whishbone = £40
bush = £5

yet...

wishbone = a doddle to fit

bush fitment to a used wishbone = omfg.

unless you have the right tools (press etc) and a load of patience, just replace the whole damn things too, may aswell get new balljoints too just to make it even easier.

actually, what the hell i saying. scrap the thing, DC2 time now.
