Worried about my sister.

she's been having pains in her stomach so she went to the doctor who did pregnancy test/cancer test, all negative but she then had a lLaparotomy the other day and they found a large cyst connected to her womb/bowl's/etc. shes going to have it out in 6 weeks but it sounds really serious.

Ovarian cysts tend to be a minor problem.

If you're still worried - ask a gynaecologist.

This isnt asking for any medical advice at all, he is just getting his concerns off his chest about his sister.

I know a young woman who had an ovarian cyst removed recently. She's recovered perfectly, but was laid up for a short while.

If the cancer stuff's come back negative I wouldn't worry too much

Did some of you people actually read the OP?

His sister has already been to a doctor - hence the tests.

He isn't asking for advice, he is just worried and posted about here.

Try not to worry to much. While it's an opperation, it isn't life threatening in anyway. I'm sure she'll be fine

It's no wonder really, with the repetetive "punch her in the ovaries" advice given here, it was only a matter of time until something like this happened.

Seriously though, fingers crossed it is as straightforward to rectify as it normally is in these cases.

She should be ok. My sister in law had one and she didn't take long to recover.

Hope everything goes well. I'm sure if it was serious (ovarian cysts, whilst obviously of concern can be easily removed) they wouldn't make her wait six weeks. Best wishes to you and your sis.

My sister has just been in hospital with the same, relatively routine operation she was in and out within the week. She is fine now.
