Worried I have grownup and its time to move on

And It seems to get worst the older you get....:(

Am over 40 now myself and all my friends I used to go around with are married now and just stay inside at home every night with there kids & wife..
And there not many 30+ year old single women around (apart from the ones with about 100kids from 100 different men),,so it not that easy to get girlfriends like it used to be when I was younger..:(

There are plenty of under 30`s. :D

If you like fps, the next time you feel like gaming, pick up Doom (if you haven't already) and mod it with the Brutal Doom mod. I've had so much fun revisiting this. There are a few other smaller mods that I've thrown in too; if you need any help, let me know. It's dead easy, though. :)

League of Legends /Dota 2 are good time consumers...

Natural Selection 2 is pure awesomeness.

Magic The Gathering Online is fun if you got a gambling mindset...

This is pretty much what I've started to do.

I'm nearly 25 and have recently felt that all I look forward to is gaming. I do have a job but work from 7pm to 3am, so usually before and after that is when I game.

About a month ago I gave up a game that I have been playing for the past 10 years or so. I feel better, reading books, learning a language, playing different types of games (with less time), I'm not as grumpy, and plenty more.

There's definitely more to gaming, but now when I do play a game it is more fun.

I've pretty much stopped playing as well, lots of games half played. lack of me time and lots of other stuff I want to do. Never going to make a million wasting away playing games :p

It's important to get the right gaming-life balance. But tbh I enjoy gaming and I look at all these hobbies and none of them really appeal to me.

I'm in the same boat at 30, after work I go to the gym then come home to football, films and tv. At the weekends I use my time to study and pay for stupidly expensive courses because works too cheap to pay for them.

I game less nowadays because of work and social stuff but it means when i do i enjoy it more. I tend to lean more towards casual games like nba, fifa etc. But then i get bored of them because im competetive and like to play online shooting people so i end up back on my pc for a bit owning :D

By the sounds of things you depressed at the fact you cant find a game to play.

WoW,Dota 2, League of Legends and the new elder scrolls online comes out soon.

Find a game and your life will seem worth while agian ;)

I know what you mean! im 25... almost 26, im agoraphobic and anxiety sufferer, all my friends have had kids, got married and moved away. Im all alone now and just game but thats all i have and its not got to the point i dont find it fun anymore! people tell me to get out but they just dont understand how hard that is with agoraphobia.

I think you need more in your life than just your PC and gaming. Gaming can add to your overall enjoyment of life, but it should not be the only thing in your life.

Saying that, I have been struggling to find games I enjoy these days. I do not enjoy the modern shooter era, and while I did enjoy WoW it is not the same these days.

I have recently discovered Dota 2 though and am loving that. While it is hard to get started with, I am really enjoying it now.

Just try more games and give them all at least two 30mins sessions. I don't subscribe to the 'you need more to life than gaming' philosophy, I think people with the right mindset, and the right games, can find fulfilment in it (in conjunction with online forums etc for an element of social interaction).

Age isn't a factor really I'm a few years older and still enjoy gaming as much as I always have, for me the problem is that other things are taking too much of my time so I can't spend as much time on gaming as I'd like.

I do have the odd period of lethargy where I can't get into any games (I haven't really got stuck into a SP game for at least a month now) but it is just a question of finding the right game to get me interested again.

I think it's probably that you are overdoing it with the gaming. I got a bit bored recently because I'd played too many games. Games that would have had me hooked in the past like ACIII and Far Cry 3 just didn't keep me involved and I ended up forgetting about them. Then I started going out more, going to the gym a lot, playing more sports etc, and now I find that when I do get time to game I find it more enjoyable again.

It sounds like you need a break and a chance to discover some other things in your life, getting a girlfriend definitely occupies your time so that might be worth a go! ;)
