Hi guys,

I signed into my hotmail account this morning to find that I had 43 emails, when usually I have maybe 4-5. I thought this was a bit strange to say the least and upon reading, saw that almost all of them were delivery failure reports from hotmail saying that my messages couldn't be sent to various people I've never heard of before.

Now, I haven't had spam in my hotmail since about...2004?! But didn't think too much of it and just added the address to my block list. I've just checked in my 'Sent' folder and turns out that emails actually have been sent from my address to these random people, which I find quite scary.

Am I to take it from this that my emal account has been hacked or something??

Ok not only have they sent emails to people I've never heard of, they've also sent them to every one of my contacts.

I've changed my password, is there anything else I should do? Change passwords on other sites?

Yes, any that have info about them in your hotmail account, oh and probably best to make sure any forgotten password forms don't go to another email account (if it does either stop it or change the password to that as well). Having said that if you can still log in that bit is probably ok.

You may have possibly picked this up through msn messenger?

I think if you have a hotmail account / live account used for your msn messenger it auto signs in for you?

You may have clicked something someone sent you through msn messenger?
