So, what endings have made you just stare at the tv, cinema screen, or last page of a book and just think...

Now, because of the nature of the thread (endings of stuff) please write it with a bit of sense, and put the name of the thing in your post and then a bit of space, so if someone ain't seen it.... they don't get angry! :p

Angel (TV Series)

Okay, it continues in comics, but I can't bring myself to read 'em. The end battle happens and then worse, I've read about what Joss had planned to do in the next season or 2. I was possibly the saddest pander ever.

Lost (TV)

If you've seen it, you'll agree that the series was awesome, and really and likely, the ending couldn't ever sum up everything... but even so... I just really hoped for more.

The Descent 2 (Movie)

The main character makes it all the way through all of the first movie. She makes it through the second movie. The sherif is such a retard he handcuffs himself too her even though she's innocent. Then she dies to sacrifice the police woman, who then is killed anyway. I don't want a movie to have a happy ending, but seriously.... It was made even worse, by the old guy that knocked her out was blatanty shady from what he said and the wink as they went in to the mine shaft.

Forever Knight (TV)

Just about everyone dies in the space of the last two or three episodes (apart from a few members of the cast). You don't even know if the main character dies, many (including some of the actors) speculate that Lacroix wouldn't have killed Nick, even though he asked for it.

So, what others can you guys think of? :D

The Sopranos.

Just a shocking lack of closure.

That was the point.

Tbh i thought The Sopranos ended perfectly. I couldn't think of any other way for it to end. Happy ending? This isn't a 'happy' programme. Him getting shot (actually seeing it)? Again, it couldn't go anywhere from there. Like a funeral scene or something, just wouldn't work at all imo.

Ending of the Dark Tower books and Stephen King writing himself into the book. awful.

While i didnt mind the ending Stephen King writing himself into the book was awful.

So bad i cant bring myself to read the 6th book again :(

Also Deep Space 9, just awful

The Sopranos.

Could be related to where they say when a gangster dies all they see is black but iunno. Just a shocking lack of closure.

I did't care for the ending either

I'd have liked to have had closure on it, ie maybe a shot of Tony in a pool of his blood or something

The amount of tension built up in the last 4 minutes or so were what made the ending. If all that tension just 'went away' when it showed you him getting shot, then I would be pretty annoyed really.

I think there is a decent consensus that he did get shot, what with the "Godfather style" guy going into the toilet and as mentioned the reference to "...all you see is black..." as well.

I just think showing it would have spoilt everything.

Ending of Alice In Wonderland and The Wizard Of Oz, et. al. Such a cop-out on the part of the writer to say, "It was all just a dream." Lame.

End of the Lord Of The Rings series. Little Nancy-boy whining crying Frodo was the one to kill Sméagol? Seriously, that little bugger kept jacking up Samwise throughout the entire story. Samwise totally should have been the one to do him in, in seriously nasty ways. :p
