Worst game of all time?

another vote for Rise of the Robots lol

worst game i ever bought, was too young at the time to be aware that games could actually be that bad (think i only owned super mario world, super r-type and street fighter 2 turbo at the time).
Got Killer Instinct a few months later tho and my faith to my SNES was restored :D

Never thought so many people would have remembered Rise of the Robots! I was so nearly suckered in by the graphics...

It's quite amusing how upset people are getting in this thread because another person does not share the same view as them.

'Troll' needs to be banned now, it's lost it's original meaning

Indeed, "trolling" now means "You hold a contraversial/differing opinion than me/the general consensus."

No one mentioned half life 2 yet?

Orange Box = biggest waste of a fiver ever.

And this was the worst game on the mega drive:

It's only a game, you don't need to get all upset about me not liking it.

I know its only a game, its not upset me I just feel sorry you have missed out on maybe the greatest game ever that got universal acclaim, but lets try to be contriversial and shout out deus ex in a rubbish attempt to look slightly hardcore exept fail and look like you clearly dont have a clue.

I rented rise of the robots with my dinner money. I should have gone with crusty old pizza and chocolate crunch with mint custard instead

Last Battle

I do find some of the worst games more entertaining than mediocre games though, the especially bad ones give you something to mock while attempting to play.

So, not liking a computer game that you like means I "don't have a clue"?

I bought it, played it, completed it and didn't like it. That's my opinion. I'm not trying to look "hardcore". Get a grip you tool; I'm not trying you impress you.

Deus ex 2: invisible war - easily the worst game I've ever parted money to play on. Pretty much everything about it was just *****

Closely followed by empire earth 2...

Archipelagos on the Amiga.....I was about 10 and had no idea what was going on

and then there was Earth Command on the CD-i. It simply didn't work...Broken game like much ofthe stuff they brought out for the cd-i....apart from Mad dog Mcree!!!!!

Hey, Archipelagos was quite good for the time. There were quite a lot of nail biting moments when you were trying to clear one end of an island only to find that the water had returned at the other end, cutting off the ability to destroy the rest of those monolith thingies.

It got pretty hectic and exciting in later levels.

I can imagine though that if you didn't have instructions or were too young at the time, the game would be useless to you.

Which begs the question: Is it OK for a game to be named as worst game of all time here just because someone was too young or played a pirated copy (see youtube clip) and consequently couldn't make heads or tails of it?

Other similar great games of that time could then also be unfairly mentioned: Towers Of Babel, Alpha Waves, Populous, or even The Sentinel, they could all then be ripped to shreds.

Speaking of games you hated as a kid can anyone remember Rigel's Revenge on the Amstrad.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rigel's_Revenge

It was a text based adventure game and I hated it game because I couldn't get past the first screen.

I was 7 at the time and all I could do was type "look left", "look right" etc. Whenever I tried to do anything else I just got a bloody error message.
