Hi all. I have promised my PC to my nephew, thinking it was time for me to build a new one for myself as mine is about 4/5 years old. From the other threads I take it now is a bad time to be doing this...

Last time when i was building my current PC it was graphics cards price skyrocketing, now its RAM.

Can I get a decent gaming spec PC for around £2000 or should I wait this out? I mainly play games like Tarkov/BF6/COD etc

It’s not amazing timing but considering GPUs will go up in price and they haven’t, it’s not the worst.

Others can tweak my below spec

My basket at OcUK:

Total: £1,631.88 (includes delivery: £11.98)

It'll depend on what you're upgrading from to a point, but £2000 should easily do you well for those games.

M-ATX variant as that's my preference:

- Both Tarkov and CoD love a powerful CPU and benefit from the extra L3 in the X3D chips, I believe BF6 does also but I'm not 100%.
- 360MM AiO is unnecessary, more of an aesthetic thing in honesty but given it's only £40 it's not a bad buy, that said a £30 Thermalright Peerless Assassin or Phantom Spirit would be ample for that CPU.
- 9070XT absolutely blows Nvidia (the direct competitor being the much more expensive 5070ti) away in CoD, I believe it's fairly competitive vs the 5070ti in both Tarkov and BF6.

If you'd rather a standard ATX build you could put one together for roughly the same money.

It’s very much a sellers market at the moment, if you’re after value pc gaming is not that right now.

You can buy a brand new slim ps5 disc for about £50 less than the cheapest available ddr5 kit!

But, that is a healthy budget that can easily cover and do what you need it to with the above!
