worst possible start...

The fact you can't even get into BIOS would be setting alarm bells ringing for me.

What I would do, is disconnect the HD and see if that lets you into BIOS. I've had problems before where an incorrectly connected HD cable prevented me from booting. Check the connection to both the drive and the motherboard controller.

Funny you mention that actually- I had that problem a few weeks back with a dead maxtor HDD which stopped the keyboard responding completley :(

For some reason my motherboard is not detecting my hard drive. I have tried all my sata ports and double checked the power supply which is correct. I can't get into bios setup for some reason so what should i do? ANy suggestions?

If you can't get into the BIOS, how do you know it won't detect your hard drive?

What ram are you using? have you tried booting with one stick at a time, in different slots?

Because it displays on the POST screen which hardware is detected ;)

He needs to unplug the hard drive to see what that does and try and get into BIOS :)
 
thanks for all the help guys. Ill try again over the weekend and post back findings. I just need to get into bios that's all. Drive was bought from No competitor talk please! so not ruling out a duff drive either...
