I've seen the PNY GeForce 8800 GT 512MB on this week only for £146.86. It looks great value but I'm wondering if it'll be worth buying one with the better 9800 serise cards coming out on the 11th of March.

I'm assuming from what everyones being saying they 9800 cards are just re-badged 8800s that have been overclocked a little. If that's true I feel it wouldn't be worth paying a lot more money for a new card that'll likely just get me an extra 2 frames a second in games. :)

Oh its making my head hurt. :(

well Im sitting it out for the next month mainly to see if we get some better price drops on the:

9600GT
8800GT
3850Pro
3870XT

I was in the same boat. Thinking of getting an 8800GT now, maybe a GTS and just clocking it. Saying that though, I hardly ever play games on my PC now. Duke4 needs to come out already :(

Cant see ati droping prices. They will just keep the price drop that just happened going.Think it was ment to end after a month.

If you want a new graphics card then just get the 8800GT and enjoy, pointless waiting out for new ones because there is always new technology round the corner.

I couldn't be bothered waiting a month.. Ordered my PNY 8800GT today! If you want it, go for it, no point waiting for the next good thing!

I would hang on to see.

The only thing that will happen to the 8800 cards is a drop in price when the 9 series

hits so I would just wait and see for a week or two.
