Worth buying unreal?

Hey,

I quite enjoyed the Unreal demo, but is it worth buying? I keep hearing that there is not a lot of servers and players?

I don't wanna buy it and find out there are 3 servers with 10 people playing on them or something :D
 
which one are you actually talking about? Unreal is a single player game primarily afaik - I thought UT99 was supposed to be much more popular multi? Have only got ut2k4 and ut3 though. have just been playing (and winning of course :p) some ut3

yes it was a half life and quake 2 beater

ut wasnt a quake 3 beater but is one of the best fps games around

2k4 is daft

ut3 is console kiddifyed
 
buy it! i bought it when it came out and ive been loving it ever since :D i always find servers to play on :)

I have had great games on UT3 in the past, it has definately been one of the best games I have played online to date. However, I have pretty much given up on it now since there isn't a lot of other players anymore and the servers are getting worse for pings etc. I'd still get it for if you see it for a bargain price but I don't think it'll have much more of an online presence.

Don't listen to iBot, I was a major Q3 fan back in the day but I have been blown away by UT3, i think it is deffinately up there with the best DM FPS games.
 
I just recently bought the game through steam, in a bundle that included most (if not all) the other UT games. Not regretting it at all, it's great! Love UT3.
 
Another thumbs up from me, when I first got it I didn't like UT3.

I re-installed it for a LAN and have been loving it ever since.

It's hard to find a good server to play on, but when you do, that server usually fills up pretty quickly. I guess most players are searching for games and not joining any until they fill up a bit

That should have been one response, I just said get it if you like it, there will be people to play with... I think its an awful game and a horrible indicator of how Epic games sold out to making throw away games with nothing to them to clean up on console sales.
 
I personally don't think of it as a throwaway game. It's a bold claim but imo it's the best multiplayer fps I've ever played, despite some flaws in the ui etc. Warfare is strategically deep to just the right extent while still providing actual fun.
 
I'd get it.. the Unreal pack from Steam is a bargain imo, just bought it myself, and it's a damn good blast :)

get it :D, dont worry about it being not as popular atm, to be fair its a pretty demanding game and not every1 has systems that can handle it yet :p give it time and the sheep will gather :D
 
i used to map edit on GOTY, was great :D then as ut04 came out i kinda quit :( i just couldnt keep up with the current standard of maps lol

still got them saved on my site: maps
